Cedar Hill City Council proudly proclaimed June 12, 2026, as National Chemo Day in Cedar Hill
On May 26, 2026, the Cedar Hill City Council officially proclaimed June 12, 2026, as National Chemo Day in Cedar Hill, recognizing the importance of supporting individuals undergoing chemotherapy and raising awareness around the emotional and practical needs of cancer patients.
Sylvia Powers received the proclamation on behalf of the initiative. Her continued dedication to supporting community members currently in treatment was acknowledged as a meaningful example of compassion, advocacy, and service. Through her efforts, she has helped make the cancer treatment journey more bearable for individuals and families facing difficult circumstances.
National Chemo Day was recognized in partnership with the Celebrating Life Foundation and Making Chemo Bearable. The initiative encouraged residents, organizations, churches, schools, businesses, and healthcare facilities to uplift cancer patients through kindness, encouragement, and support.
The proclamation served as a reminder that even small acts of compassion, such as delivering care bags, sending cards, volunteering, praying, or offering words of encouragement, can make a lasting difference in the lives of those navigating treatment.
